Question Shift Kit for Auto Tranny

My 2000 XJ 4.0L auto seems like it is searching for gears on long, steeper hills. When it's in drive it is constantly shifting up and down. Sometimes I shift down to 3rd so it will hold a gear but then the rpms soar. Is there a shift kit I can install that will help eliminate this shifting search? What about throttle body or TBS? Cold air intake? Any other suggestions? Has anyone else experienced this in their cherokee? The Jeep is basically stock: 3.55 gears, LT 235/75/15 tires, K&N drop in filter. TIA

A shift kit will just up the preassure in the tranny for firmer shifts. It's the nature of the beast to hunt for shifts on the hills in W Wa. I had a 99 XJ for 3 + years and that is one of the things I didn't like. If the tranny starts hunting between 3rd and 4th just shift into 3rd untill you get to the top of the hill then go to 4th. That is about all you can do excect go lower gears wich on a stock rig would be a wast of money.
