I'd go with a 14 bolt 4.88 set and a Dana 44 4.88, as well
Seriously, though, just call a company and make sure the R&P are made here in the good ol USA, and get a good install set.

It does matter but since the 14b is so overkill does it really matter? Not sure so good question.

My rear thirdmember is from Randys and has Yukon gears and aside from being noisy i havnt had any problems with them, but what 5.43 gears are going to run at a wisper. Ive also heard good things about their axles too.

Just bought a set of 5.38 tonight from Mike at www.completeoffroad.com. Talked with him on the phone and he gets all his stuff from Randys. I bought two sets of spicer for 298.00 that is cheaper than randys wanted. I have run into this before when the supplier is more than a little shop that buys it direct from them. Good luck!

I got a set from Precision Gear(5.13) for my HP D44,14B. I havent driven on them yet but they have gotten some decent reviews when I searched. Also try U.S Gear. Try to stay away from Yukon or whatever cheap gears 4WPW is pushing. Remember you get what you pay for with gears(ie, cheap gears are cheaply made). Cheap gears may be cheap at first but the cost of pre mature replacement will cost you more in the long run, even with the lifetime warranty the cost of down time, shop time is more than the cost of good gears the first time. Just my .02

I've heard bad things about USGear too. IMO go with Spicer if it's for a Dana axle. Yukon is whatever Randy's feels is best for that application, and are often just Spicer gears.

I did this same search last spring and the answers I came up with were dana gears for dana diffs and us gear for everything else. I bought my stuff from complete off road, gears and one detroit, he was cheaper than everybody else and he will deal so don't be afraid to ask him for his best price.

Ive had yukon gears for 2 years now. Had 4.56's then 5.13's. I hear more shit about Genuine Gear or whatever the hell 4 wheel parts sells. Ive seen 2 of those gears explode both were in toyota 8''s.
