Speaking of clutches........(prob)

Almost from day 1 my YJ (4 banger)clutch "chatters"....It all depends on how warm it is outside or how I slip the clutch on take-off.....I've had it redone 2x for that problem and it's good at first, then after about 6 mos. it starts shuddering again.

WTF?

This is irritating. Any suggestions?

Dunno if this belongs here or on newb.. (not exactly a hardcore question) but I'll give an answer anyway.
Lotsa things could cause chattering. Slipping the clutch is a likely cause.. as is using the clutch as a brake to keep from rolling back on hills. Any excessive slipping of the clutch will warp the flywheel and/or pressure plate, causing chatter.
An oil leak that allows oil to contaminate the clutch will eventually lead to chattering and/or slippping.
As for things that could and should be done when doing the clutch, the flywheel should always be resurfaced, even if it looks ok. You should always use a good quality clutch kit, not a cheapo. The pilot bearing should always be repalced. The splines on the input shaft should be cleaned thoroughly, and coated lightly with a good high temp grease. Clutch, pressure plate and flywheel need to be completely cleaned w/ brake cleaner before assembly. The pressure plate bolts should be tightened down gradually and evenly, in a criss-cross pattern, to prevent warpage.
All of this is real basic stuff. Can't give you much more w/o a visual inspection of the worn parts.

You are either using a cheap disc or the flywheel needs replacement if you can't resurface it.
