5.0 swap questions

Sorry if this needs to be moved to newbie section. But, the more I search, the more confused I get about my 1st question.

I have a '93 mustang 5.0, an '86 F-250 4wd T-18, and a BH from a '85 F-150 w/ hyd clutch.

1. Flywheel? I know I need the 11" truck flywheel, but why do some guys recommend one from a 300 I6 ? What is the difference? And so after I get the flywheel, I have to take the mustang flywheel AND the truck flywheel to have it match balanced somewhere? Anyone know a shop near San Jose that can do this?

2. I was going to use the clutch slave that fits the bracket that came with my '85 BH, will the Jeep 4cyl stock master cyl work with the Ford slave?

3. I couldn't find the serp belt PS bracket for a saginaw pump, has anyone made a V-belt style one work? It looks close...

One quick tip, but then go to the TOTW thread on 5.0 swaps.

Find an '87 ford E150 van with a 5.0 liter motor and swipe the serpentine belt set up from it. It is identical to the '86-'93 mustang belt set up but uses the saginaw ps pump. Bolt on swap and you can reuse your stock jeep pump. Just swap them out and install the ford ps pulley on your jeep pump.

I used the 92-96 E-250 van bracket on my swap P/N F4UZ23C511A, I needed to make a thin washer shim for the lower outside bolt on the head for the pullies to line up perfectly. I got the bracket from a Ford dealer.
As for the clutch, I couldn't see the stock YJ clutch master working with the Ford slave so I swapped in the Ford master. Be warned though, It's a pain to do, and opens up clearance issues with the brake booster.
If you have a TJ, then I've heard of guys using a CJ slave with that.
I swapped in an NP435 transmission behind mine, I used all 87 Ford F-150, bellhousing, clutch, T/O bearing, fork, slave bracket and slave.
I used the 164 tooth 50 oz. imbalance flywheel, P/N E8TR-AA
A tip if you plan to run headers, use 87 Ford F series truck. Hooker makes a set.

Strange you had to make a shim to get the pulleys to line up. I did not have to use any shims but I used all of the pulleys and brackets off the donor van. Oddly enough, the van alt bracket appears to be identical to the mustang 5.0 bracket. The van PS bracket is a little different because it accepts the late model style A/C compressor with the three bolts that go in from the top, bit the compressor that attaches from the steel plate on the mustang. The van bracket is also a dual bolt pattern style, it will fit both the 302 and 351. I have a spare alt bracket from a lincoln that will accept the large case alt if I ever decide to swap one in.

On the other hand, the belt that was called for in my application (van) was too short. I ended up having to measure the length with some string to get the right belt. Odd.
