HELP!!! Dodge Ram 1500 axles on a Jeep?
I came across a set of axles for sale for a Dodge 1500, the front is a Dana 44, the rear is a Chrysler 9 1/4. The nice thing is that they are already 4:11 geared, and the rear has a track loc. My question is: How wide are these puppies, and what would it take to get them installed on my YJ. Any additional modifications, or areas I would need to look into? How would I proceed as far as steering, setup, etc? I am not familiar with the Chrysler 9 and 1/4. Is this a good axle? Thanks for the info! |

Not sure of the actual width but they are going to be a heck of a lot wider than the Jeep axles. You could have them cut down but that takes some money. As for mounting them you'd probably just have to re weld the perches in the right position.
