TJ flat bed conversion

Looking for some ideas on flat beds. I searched, and found a bit of info, but I am looking for some more. My plan is to extend the frame at the back, have the tub end about 18" behind the front seats and convert the back to a tubed flat bed. Shooting for a wheelbase of around a 102''-106" with a good rear departure angle.

I kind of was looking to do something similar you can see from the attached pics that I have done the same as others on the board, cutting the frame and then extending it out. I belive JP makes a a tub that ends right behind the front seats that would work great. From there you can pretty much make it whatever you want.

I saw one sitting in front of AEV the other day, that looked like a work in progress. Maybe check out their web site for the conversion.

Slapnutz, the first words out of my mouth were "Oh shit!"
That flatbed conversion is completely fricken awesome.

One thing I noticed... based upon the grill, and some other clues, I'd say it actually isnt a conversion at all, yet its one of the models that was made for the military and was used for a tug. The ones im referring to came with the tub already like that.

I could be wrong however, and if so, thats one clean metamorphasis.

Yeah, it's a CJ-10 tub/grill. It's probably military, but there's a chance that It may have come from Australia, as well (where they built full-length trucks based on the same tub/front clip).

I agree. It's probably one of the cleanest executions of this idea that I have seen. More pics...more pics...
