Depressurizing TJ Fuel Line

Preparing to slap on PSC gas tank skid (hole in the stocker, finally ). You guys know how to depressurize the high pressure line on the tank so I don't blind myself? It's in the factory service manual, but no $ to throw at one for the time being.

If its a 4L I think theres a valve on the intake that looks like a valve stem that will release the presure, atleast its like that on a '00 XJ.

The lines don't hold that much volume. It's not going to go everywhere. Just disconnect it and don't hold your face right up against it when you do so.

thats what I do. just wrap a rag around the line when you pull it off, and it catches 99% of the fuel.

Just be sure to wear some form of eye protection when disconnecting the lines. I didn't when I was working under mine, and wound-up w/ gas getting spewed right in my eyeball - not fun.

If you're really scared of it, pull the fuel pump fuse and let her run herself dead.

two options:

A) Don't be a PUSSY! Just unplug everything from the top of the tank & Get 'er Done!

B) Go to the fuel rail (U know where this is at right?)...there is a valve stem look-a-like up there, unscrew cap, push in valve...bingo no more pressure.

I've used the 1st method all the time & then one time I tried to "Depressurize" the system...watch out..it spews more gas up there than at the tank lines.
