cut my floor at rear of bodymount crossmember.cut the roofoff at front of rear window . cut the fenders off at an angle,wich i matched with the angle the spare is mounted at.cut the frame off at tha spring hangers after welding plates to the top, and bottomflanges of the frame. later another plate is welded in to complete the new rear crossmember.
when cutting we used a sawzall to get the built up areas like the gutters, andthe top of the fenders. we got better results on long single layrr areas like the roof, and fenders with good old snips. my waggy is a beater , so i wasnt to concerned with trying to weld the ends back on the fenders , but it dosnt seem like it would be that hard. hope this helps yuo out. oh yea it only took my son , and i 2 hours!!! |
