need some more info on this axle for my jeep
not really sure if this should be going in ford talk..but im sure alot of people here know. im lookin at a d44 for my tj and found this one for sale, from what ive reasearched its a 1976 or 1977, it doesnt apear to have the cast radius arms but the coil buckets apear to be a little off to fit under my jeep w/o modification? if anyone has any info on this axle or wether i should stay away from it or not, please post any info you got.

lots of data re D44 swaps into XJ's--same suspension on front as TJ. Here's a place to start:http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=52219

The 70's style Ford hp44's arn't supposed to be that hard to convert from drum to disc. Look at Mr. N's http://77cj.littlekeylime.com/web_rs44.html page and you will find a ton of info on that series of axle.
Also a lot of tech in here if you search.
