I had this same problem, I used some RTV clear silicone and went lightly under the KORE gasket, lightly over the gasket and plugged the vent hole on the factory TJ pump. So far, no more leaking gas.

It's the Emissions bit that is gray and looks like a Trident Speer of sorts!

If you have any pics of WHERE you hooked the line from the ROV that would be great!

My shit is still throwing a code for Small and large Evaparative leak.
I connected mine from the rollover valve to thefactory line that runs up to the charcoal cannister. 2 years so far and has never thrown an evap code.

Yep, ever since I did this, I have always had a "P0455" Gross leak detected code thrown. I clear it and it always comes back. I have dinked with it so much I have pulled my hair out!

Do you guys have a rubber seal on the fuel cell gas cap? Mine is just aluminum. Could it be reading a loose gas cap?

you need to get an o' ring on your gas cap, that may do it for ya.
if I'm not mistaken that is the same code you get when you forget to put your gas cap on.

Haha I don't even have my fuel cell in and I'm throwing that code, but I'm pretty sure my gas cap is on haha
Don't know why it's throwing it

Can you tell me which one of the two Evap hard line you tied the vent to. I'm doing the same thing and trying to figure out how to get things hooked up and not throw a code. Nice looking job BTW.

There are only two and they both end up in the same place in the engine compartment. In my case it did not make a difference which one I used.
With my set-up you will get a code, there is no evap system being used. The only way I can eliminate the code is to hook the evap system back in line with the fuel system.

BTW, I have been meaning to thank Redmist for this write up... thanks man.
I have had my set-up for a while now, which is pretty much a total copy of Redmist's original set up, and it has worked great. No leaks and no other issues at all.

Yup...my RCI tank has a rubber gasket in the cap.

This thread won't die

So, I have everything on the Jeep cut out and ready to go, the cell is in place on my Jeep. I'm ready to cut the cell, the KORE rings, and get this job done.

Do stainless bolts need to be used on the lower ring? The ring itself is not stainless after all. I wouldn't think that rust or corrosion would be an issue.

I never saw a definite answer on what everyone did as far as the gaskets go. Does the KORE supplied gasket go on the bottom, then the factory on the top? Silicone everything lightly to ensure a good seal?

Silicone breaks done when subjected to gas, dont use it or it will leak.Use the rubber seasl and gasket and you should be good to go.

Thanks, and I forgot one other question... is there something inherent in the design of the TJ pumps that keeps it fueled when off-camber, or should I be looking at a way to mod the pickup to feed from a pair of Walbros? I realize the factory tank is flat and therefore less likely to be completely starved than this tall tank (when not completely full), but I've NEVER had a fueling problem in the stock setup, even when laying on my side and the tank nowhere near full.

Not in my case. I used the supplied gasket and it leaked like crazy. I used some black RTV on top of the cell (not in the cell) on the pump head and between the top ring. I haven't had any break down issues with mine AFTER using the RTV and it's been in there for a year and 4k miles.

Yes yes I know.....I'm in the process of strapping it down. I rarely drive it and when I do its usually no more then 10 miles to and from work. It's about to get 1 tons this winter so I will be fixing that. 2 of my tabs already have cracks running half way through them.

Anyone put a bladder type fuel cell with the 4.0? Have the 2161 with the KORE ring now and factory fuel pump, but want to change to the bladder cell with a remote pump.

What type of pump will be the most reliable? E2000??? Will the E2000 even work with the factory 4.0???

Get a Bypass style regulator and any style electric pump that will get you to 50 psi will work.

Anyone have any idea what size self tapping screw they used on the pump. Over read a ton of write-ups and no one remembers or posts. Will any one work for the most part?

Anything that fits between the wings should work. Just don't crack the plastic.

Yup I just used some self tappers I had laying around. My pump is permanently together now. I didn't want to coming apart.
