Automter Sensors vs. Stock Sensors
Autometer supplies new sensors with the oil and coolant temp gauges. In a '99 4.0L application, should I use the stock TJ sensors or should I thread in the new ones that automter provided?
I've been reading up on swaping out TJ gauges for the Autometer's, when I came across this: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...ighlight=gauge "For the temp sensor, I did not drill and tap a new fitting location in the thermostat housing, the block has a coolant drainage hole that happened to be a perfect 3/8" NPT size so I used that. Its a bitch to get to, and I had to grind down the square side of an extension to fit the hole in the plug, but it wasnt that bad. Nobody in town had an NPT tap so I was impatient and did it this way. The temp readout is the same as the one taken at the top of the thermostat housing."
