recently from the q-tec bb
Well, I've been running on the 31" tires for awhile now, and the change has been fairly drammatic. My fifth gear is almost useless, in fact. I only use it when I'm on the interstate, and even then I have to downshift into 4th in order to keep up speed going up a slope (not a hill, mind you, just a slope.) From what I've been able to find out, my best choice is to go to 4:10's in back, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to have the same ratio in the front. Would they both require 4:10's, or do I want to step up the front gear a little? While I don't like the expense of regearing, I don't see that I have a choice. I can't stand the power loss I'm enduring now. WOW! |

Solution - Buy a honda
Must have the 3.07's. I ran my cherokee with 31's and stock gears for a while (I did change both axles <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0"> - yup, 5th completely useless unless there was a steep downhill run with the wind at your back.

the funny part was asking whether he had to change the gears in the front after putting 4:10's in the rear!
of course, me being a nice guy, i offered my setup. Told him I had 4:88's in the front, 3.07 in the rear. Funny thing is nobody's called bullshit yet. |

OK sparky, may be a little chatty, but let's look at your past few posts of sage on topic advice in this forum. Quote:
