Yup, definetly master cylinder.
I've been thru so many of the damn things, its really ticking me off. M/C goes south at least once a year. Take it back, and like an idiot, get ANOTHER rebuilt one. Take a good look inside a "remanufactured" master cylinder sometime, I almost guarantee you'll find shavings in there from when they bored it, or a pitted and ugly bore where they didn't hone it at all.
My dad tells me of the "good ole days" when you could buy a rebuild kit and rebuilt the things, but now its just cheaper and easier to buy a new one. The reman'd ones are like $20 after the core charge, and a brand new one is close to $100. So you keep buying remanufactured, and they keep failing.
Garbage in. Garbage out.
Okay, I'll stop now. But do get a new master cylinder.
