Well the 4:10's have been in the Front DANA 30 ARB'd since 1998 and they finally decided to let go.

Tore 5 teeth of the ring gear and at least 3 off the pinion.

Details are as follows'

Friend calls and says "Your little Jeep will never pull my bushes out of my front yard."

So off we go winch cable in hand.
Well it took lots of work and at one point I had all 4 smokin on the road in Reverse. Well we were able to get all the bushes removed and when I started to drive home, I heard a clunk.

Yep, I drove it the 3 miles home, LIMPED it and tore into it today.
The ring and pinion are shot. BUT this time the ARB held UP!

And so did the SPICER factory axles and joints!

Well made one telephone call and the 4:89's are on the way!

Tue they should be here. and then the install.
Will report more later. :D

Total broken rearends
7 Dana 35C ARB's
2 Dana 35c ring and pinions
3 front dana 30 ARB's busted apart but still work
1 front dana 30 ring and pinion.
8 front 297x u joints
2 brute force 297x u joints
2 front dana spicer axles
1 dana 44 Superior rear axle

Not bad since 1997 :D

Common Sense,,,, Phewy.. :D

So I like to have small weak shit. :D

What you dont think 488's on a dana 30 is strong.
Just think how small the pinion is going to be. Oh well thats what I decided to get. And since, (according to BADASSJEEPGUY and ROCKBOUND) I will never get it. I dont have to worry bout busting anything either. :rasta:

Little off topic?

I know u were not really WHEELING this time but damn wish I got to go wheeling enought to weaken my stuff enough to break em later on puny things.

Bert? You mentioned to me about tire connections.. PM / or email me if u still got that connection. I need tires.

ahhhhh and where in the heck do I get the O ring to seal my ARB tank? . It went south.. well actually north. the top of the ring went poof.

Dana 30 and a REVERSE cut 44 So that one isn't all that big either.

And "I am never gonna Get it! " Remember. So they dont have to worry bout fixing it. Heck I have had that thing apart so many times I could do it with my eyes closed.

I carry spare stub shafts. Just pull the axles and run it in 2 w/drive.

4 hours? With air tools? No. not quite try 20 min. Tops.

My girlfriend can honestly replace the axle shafts in my D44 in a half hour so dont be too proud of that.
The 4 hours is to drag your crippled ass rig accross the rest of the trail.
I guess if you like wrenching on the trail more than wheeling, then your on the right track, keep up the good work.

H8, I see your point, But the trails we do around here all have easy escape routes that can mostly be done in 2wheel drive.

They are quite different than what you are used to. If I was worried about being stranded and causing a strain on my friends.
I would have spent big bucks long ago on Dual REV 60's and 42's

But 35's are more than enough for what I MALL CRAWL :D
