The second one seems to flow alittle better to me but I don't think it makes a huge difference.. They both look pretty good to me.

I didn't notice the main piece was a different shape.. the first one looks better... just angle the bar like the second one.

Disregard the paint. It was just a sample piece that got used for this door.

I like the first one better, the 2nd one looks a little goofy. Got any pics of the rest of your rig?

The sharper bend radius of the 1st door and the subsequently steeper angle of the top tube creates a design that better follows the factory lines of the vehicle, creating a more cohesive apperance than that of the second design. The forward facing inner door brace is also more visually appealing, and could provide a higher level of utility than the rear facing brace used on the second door.

Of more interest than the design of the doors is the method of their construction, as they appear to have been bent by a muffler shop press bender. Notice the pipe deformation at the top of both doors, and the reduced pipe diameter at the bottom, such as would be created as the main die and shoes, crush and strech the pipe to complete the bend.

That not withstanding, nice Jeep! [edit: post up some pics of the rest of the rig]

I like the first one. The angle of the center tube makes it so (at least it looks this way) that you could use it as a grab handle running down the highway (probably not a real good idea on the trail in case you land on that side.

I like the sharper bend in the outer tube of the first one, but I like the middle tube in the second one. The laid "back" version seems to me that it flows better and doesn't go against the grain as much. Don't ask me why i feel that way I just do.

The second one is very offensive: la migra la migra

bend the top bar to mimic the jeep half doors. Keep a nice tight bend at the back to keep it down away from your elbow. Lower the entire door, and have the lower bar closer to the lower door frame. None of this should affect the function negatively.

I like the first door outer shape. Although I would place the door hight and bar for comfort...

where does inner bar contact the knee in either door? I would place that bar where it contacts a thick fleshy part of the thigh. if it bangs your knee "or elbow" at all you will hate it after the first trail run.
