Request a Diesel JK from D-C

Hey Guys... Roscioli here... don't post too often, but I have had a 64 CJ and an 88, and always been a big jeep fan even when I don't own one.
For all of you who are interested in a diesel JK, I have the following suggestion. Use the following link to email D-C and petition for it. Keep it simple and short so that the busy folks will actually read it, and keep on them if they send you a form letter in return (their return email will include a different link and a reference number to bug them again).
USE THE POWER OF A FORUM! The best part of forums is the power of people, so let's use it as best we can!

Here is a sample of a letter that you might use (copy and paste it if you would like): To whom it may concern, my name is _____ and I currently drive a _____. I am writing you to request that Jeep offers a Diesel engine in the new version of the Wrangler. I would be interested in purchasing a Diesel Wrangler for the increased power and fuel economy that diesel engines offer. Thank you very much for your time, _________.

Thanks guys, hopefully if enough of us email them we might actually make a difference. Automobile manufactures rely on public interest to decide which models to bring to production, so what better way to show them interest than a barrage of emails?

X2

But to elaborate on the topic.

DC will not change or offer different production vehicle layouts because people email them asking for them. No matter how many people ask for it. Expert analysts are hired to analyze data on demand and the market to make changes in the production line. And no, emails to some random member within DC walls does not count as demand. These analysts are more than likely not the people you are emailing and wont catch any wind of the "forum movement" asking for a diesel in a JK.
On the other hand if you havn't noticed there is a trend in new production vehicles to find alternative fuels. Flex fuel, hydrogen, and diesel are all being researched and new products are coming out every day. In fact just recently released is the new 3.0L CRD for the 07 Grand cherokee. The mercedes built diesel puts out 376lb-ft of torque and gets 19-23 mpg. Not to shabby.
The liberty was first to get it, now the Grand, and i'd be willing to bet it will go further down the line if the CRD Grand sells well. So if you'd like a CRD JK go out and lease/purchase the CRD Grand for the next couple years to produce demand for the CRD engine lineup.

by the way, it looks pretty sweet

now move this to anything but hardcore

Does that one work? Moderators please move this thread out of the hardcore section... Thanks for the support guys.

By the way.. I'd love to toss a CRD into a jeep if I had the knowhow, but it seems to me that most of you dont either (based on the giant lack of information found during searching)... Enlighten me.
