dodge tf727 and dana300 help

I have a dodge tf727 transmission and have a dana300 with the DOE flip kit. Can i just drill new holes into the transmission housing or drill holes into the dana300 casting and tap them instead of buying a clocking ring??

i understand but i am trying to do everything that i can on this build to save money. I was just asking if this is at all possible.

two of the 5 (i think studs??) fit in holes already on the trans. If i just fill the other 3 stud holes with weld and than re-drill them to line up with the trans..... will this work. Or can i not drill into the case as it will mess it up with running into the gearing and crap????

drilling into the t case there is not much mat to hold on to the trans side may be thicker

no i'm using a mopar 360. Comming off the transmission is a long tunnle with a long shaft into it. Than the transfer case bolts to that... There dosn't seem to be alot of material on that to drill and plus its aluminum i would not want to weaken that with more holes.......

Buy a go2guy flipped clocking ring and dont worry about it.

Or, you could save $100 now and get on the trail and rip your t-case off your tranny and get to fix the tranny, t-case, drivelines and yokes.
