do a search of all the flat fender posts, some guy made some killer lookin ones, they werent just tube fenders like jeffs or adams, they actually looked like the flatty ones. ill try and find it later if you cant.
I have a set I would get rid of, however there is no way you want to do this, it is harder then what these guys make it out to be, and they are making it out to be hard.
One...The profile of the gill is not the same.
Two...you would have to hack up the floor and tub.
three... Not for certain but I would say they would be about 9 inches too short.
So the reason that you want to do it is because you put an older engine in a new jeep which isn't legal in CA and you want to register it as an old flattie so that it will be legal. Good thought, just don't get caught. I made my own fenders, and you would probably be better off doing that too because flattie fenders and yj fenders are no where near alike. I'm sure you could do it, but why when you could probably start from scratch and make something that looks close a whole lot easier.

Acutally, I built the jeep from a CJ frame (boxed) and YJ body. Coil front suspension with SOA rear. Nothing on this thing is original. Chevy 350 with TH350 and Dana 300. D-44's front and rear. Changing the registration isn't really all that tough. I've been told it would be legal to title as a salvaged vehicle.
The easiest thing to do in your situation is to get yourself a cj7 title and body tag. Then you have it inspected and license it as that. If you dont have one sell something and buy one. the yj stuff fits on a cj 7 and that is all you have to tell them, or how about what everyone tells me, I didnt know I bought it this way. You will not pass a yj off as a flat fender to the inspectors, and if no physical inspection is required, then cj7 title and tag and go to town.

Not going to work. Have to be prior to 73 to avoid any type of Smog. CJ-7 starts at 76.
My point: This rig really isn't a YJ folks. I started to look at the purpose built title laws, but it's a royal pain in the ass.
