Sorry for the ramblings, here goes.
Seems to be a lot of whining and crying goin on here dudes, people with thin skins, people getting pissy, newbies not taking their "lumps". Has anyone read the Bylaws of the Pirate4x4 club? If you haven't, here's an excerpt. 3. Club initiation runs will be held on July 4th weekend. This run is the only initiation run, and is the only time prospects can be inducted into the club. a. Prospects will be required to complete a determined initiation process, that will be set forth by fellow Pirates. Currently, the initiation process involves driving through Little Sluice blindfolded with the spotter of your choice. BLINDFOLDED For those that have done the old "you call yourself hardcore?" and "why can't I run D44's, it works for me" responses. Please remember one thing, this is PIRATE4x4's website. If the question is "What axle should I run in my YJ,TJ,XJ,FJ,EB,CJ,ZJ,K5,IH" and the response is (of course) a Dana60, don't bitch, don't whine, don't say "Well, I think a 60 is overkill" just listen and learn. If you don't like it, leave. There are other BBS's on the internet that will think that since you have a D44 front axle, you are a GOD! Not here. A D44 shaft is still a D44 shaft, regardless of the spline count. You can get Dana60 rears , from a junkyard, with 35 spline, 1.5 inch axles for 200 bucks. I know, I have one. (And no, I'm not going to share what vehicle, find that out yourself. ) I can build a D60, 35 spline, rear, 1.5" axles, with a spool and 4.56 gears, for 600 dollars. Get it? Next Subject: Incrementalism Anyone ever heard the old "DO it right, or don't do it at all" saying? I'm guessing not. If you don't have money for that axle, tranny, t-case, suspension swap right now. Wait, but don't blow your wad on stuff to "get you by" and then come on POR and expect answers to "pat you on the head" and say "There there, just put another 50 bucks into it and it'll get you by". Won't happen, not here anyway. But that's the beauty of POR, the "College" level of Jeeping BBS's. I'm not hardcore in the least, and I KNOW that if I did live out in Cali, I wouldn't join POR, just because I like to see where I'm going when I'm wheelin. But my point is this, it seems like since March when I first joined the POR ranks, there were only 3657 members (my member number I believe), and now there are over 6000! So, quit your whining, search thoroughly before you ask a question, and above all else, wear a thick skin (and have a flame proof suit next to you at all times). (Sorry to sound like a moderator, the reason I started posting at POR was it's reputable "hardcoreness", which, sad to say, seems to be overrun by newbie whining) FLAME SUIT IS ON! Dude, I think you'd be suprised by the people around here who actually run 44's and dont bitch about em I also think that the automatic "60's 60's 60's" thing didnt start heavily until Massey a couple years back. And to be honest there are rigs that'll run just fine with 44's. Now go out and get me a FRONT D60 with 35 splines for $200.

Wouldn't you call what you are doing right now "whining"?? . I'm tired of all this "hardcore" talk. If you don't like the subject of a post, don't read it, or read it for entertainment value and amusement . |

Wagon's exactly right! I don't have a prize, so a will have to suffice.
I got mine out of a Full size Cherokee something or other though. Not exactly sure what year, I look it up. Out |

I also dont care about staying with the 5 lug pattern, Ill go to 8 lug if they are more available. something about 66" or less, mounting surface to mounting surface would be great, but Im flexable.

Well said. I've been browsing this board for quite sometime now. I don't ask much cause I search first.
I've found this site very usefull and I've always found what I'm looking for, as opposed to the other sites out there. |

Sucks dude.
I just "turned down" a full floater, 8 lug, D60, that was 65" WMS to WMS for 100 bucks Sorry man, I'd ship it, but it probably weighs about 50000000 lbs. (Yea, it's that damn heavy! ) |

The truck runs too Those parts sound like the beautiful beggining of a rock buggy. Just need to convince Sara that it would be cool to have
