Collective Jeep Cages Thread

There seems to be A LOT of "Hey here is my cage" posts lately which is awesome. But is there a thread that has is just an archieve of peoples cage pictures? If not post away, I think it would be a fairly useful thread and I am starting my cage this weekend so would like to see some more setups before I commit.

Thanks!

In all fairness, the TOTW regarding cages was just a bitch session between a couple of people who couldn't decide if Tube or pipe was better...waste of fawking web space if you ask me...

Here's a Jeep cage pic.

Here are a few pics of my cage.
Although it works very well (and it has been well tested), I plan to have Scout Dude work some of his bender magic and build me a better designed cage, when time permits.
The things I would like to improve are,
1: More head room
2: More triangulation
3: Move the over head switches to the dash cross bar
4: Improved tie ins to the cockpit tubing and seat mounts.
5: Improved tie ins to the frame mounts
6: Improved materials (maybe chromoly)
Like I said mine works well, but has much room for improvement, over the hodgepodge design.

Hey there brilliant one...I bet if you started clicking on people's "WWW" links that they have graciously provided, you would be amazed at what you can find...In fact, if you checked out mine, you'd find more pics of the very same YJ that you needed additional pics of.

Never saw that button... learn something new every day. Did you (if you built it) cut off the factory downbars and weld to the foctory mounts? or is it tied in to the frame? very few people include that shit in their pics..heres my shit. We may not have rocks but by God we got rigs!!

Fawk, that pic is huge..is that actual size?

We removed the factory cage and sold it to a CJ guy that wanted his family protected...that helped pay for the tube.

The rest is all new. However, the owner got some upper seatbelt bungs from a wrecked cage and those were installed so that the original seatbelts would work like normal.

Flatty cage

I "finished" mine last weekend-still not painted. I still have a couple of pieces I want to weld in, but I REALLY want to get it on the road! Anyone want to post pics for me?

EDIT: Rollbar Pics

Yes, I WAS on the basketball hoop! Who says whitemen can't jump!?

I got a question, should the bar that goes across the windshield frame be at least connected to the one that goes over the dash?? It seems that there is a weak spot at that point. I know that the bar would affect visibility, but I don't like the idea of the center of the cage crashing into my head.

Any comment?

Craig

It would sure help..but it's not legal here. However, I think that the std set up with a dash bar is going to at least save your life in an extreme roll-over...your cage may be a pretzal afterwards though.
