Question Dana 44's and 37 boggers?????

Is it safe to run Dana 44's front and rear in my YJ with a strait 258 6cyl?? Will I break the back If I bounce at all? Im fairly easy on the GO peadal.. I know the front is only X297 joints It the back Im more worried about.. Give me your opinon please and thanks.. <IMG SRC="smilies/smokin.gif" border="0">

if you're easy on the stupid pedal, you should be ok. emphasis on should. the 4.2 doesn't put out a whole lot of power. i'd say that it would be ok temporarily. start looking for something beefier though. it would be kinda like running 33's on the d35. some people abuse the heck out of it and it hold up fine. others snap them pretty quick.

it's a fact of life, if you wanna run the big tires, you have to run the big axles.

A friend of mine runs 44's front and rear with 38x12.5 sx's locked with a detroit up front, and arb in the rear, its on a cj5 with a 304 v8, 4speed, cant remeber the tcase but with a 4:1 kit, 4.56, his crawl is around 120:1, he rarely breaks them, but hes a smart driver too, hates using the go pedal

You should be ok, I run that setup on my TJ, so far so good. Real test this weekend in Disney, OK where ARB had that invitation 44's(tires) only run. I'll let you know...

I am going to be running 39.5" boggers on my TJ with a 44 front this weekend in Chattanooga. Should be VERY interesting to say the least. I will let ya know
