Anyone in Nor Cal changed out thier modle 18 gears to the 3.15's? - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

If you have do you still have the stock gears around and feel like getting rid of them.
I have a post up on the Wanted board so PM me if you have them.
Has anyone else had their Tera 3.15's

My 18 gears had had the low range go out twice. I thought that I must has screwed up the instal the first time so I had a shop do it the second and the same result. Each set I get one season out of and then the teeth start bending and breaking off. I took them back to who I got them from and he is sending them back to see if they will replace them butI'll be dammed if I ever buy another set. I posted this here becuase I need gears this weekend and need to at least have the stock ones as back-up if Tera says I am out of luck.
I just sent them an e-mail checking to see what they are willing to do.

bummer, those Tera people are SOB's, what kind of power train are you running around the Dana 18?, i have heard BAD stories about the TERA gears goin :nuke

a friend of mine has the Tera 4:1 set in his Dana 300, and his gear took a dump, Tera wounld not warranty it, so he bought the newer gear that is a better design. wuts the specs on the machine it is in?

Dean we have had 2 sets of the 3.15's go boom. Both times it took a tooth off the small gear.....we know a dealer really well so the warrenty thing was really easy. (Had a new set in 2 days) I'll check to see if we have the old gears laying around.

Dean, I got lot's of 20 stuff laying around. Not sure at all if any of it's compatible, but you're welcome to it.

So far Zippo has offered me an 18 out of a 64 Scout so I think I'll do that, that way I have time to see what Tera will do and I have a whole case to just drop in. Anyone know what might be different on the scout 18 that my 18 other than it works!

I think I will have to pull the front yoke and put on my 1310 size yoke but other than that I don't know. Anyone?

The spec's of my rig
39.5's, RC60, 5.13's, ARB's, 90' wheelbase, it rarely gets out of low range, and gets wheeled allot.
