Dana 44 front disk Chevy/GM Caliper brkt help

I am building a HP Dana 44. Have done Chevy high steer knuckles and want 5x5.5 bolt pattern.

In doing the Chevy/Ford brake combo I have found that there are at least two Caliper mounting plate backspacings. I am told the backspacing is about 1/4" difference. I have caliper brackets with the less backspacing and cannot fit the
brake shoe between the disk and the caliper mounting bracket.

My question is what vehicles do I get the caliper mounting brackets from that will give me the additional 1/4" of backspacing?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I see your problem...and you'll never get brake shoes to work with a disk brake setup. Which Chevy caliper bracket are you using 1/2T or 3/4T?

I founed these on ebay. They are exactly what i used. You should be able to find a ton of these at any salvage yard.

What spindles are you using? The chevy ones will work, the fords will not as far as I know.

Brewchief

The drum brake ford spindles are what I'm referring to, the disc brake won't bolt up.

You need to make sure you have the small chev spindle. Either chev backing plate will work with the right spindle.
