Whats wrong, whats right and how would you change it?
Whats wrong, whats right and how would you change it?
Looking for some knowledgable answers from a knowledgable crowd. I have been toying heavily with my rear suspension, trying different set-ups. Everytime something is changed I put the jeep on the ramp and if all goes well I take it out on the trail. Anti rock sway bars are in the works front and rear but I wanna your opinions on the suspension thus far. If you see a problem please state the way you would go about fixing it. ![]() ![]()

first i would ditch the bungy cord limiting straps,
a buddy of mine solved a the spring repositioning prob by getting a boat roller "><" from you local marine store, cut it in half and you have to rubgber wedges that will hold the spring in place, act as a bump stop, and when the spring streches enough the rollers will be pulling against it and there is one more prob, GET OFF THE RAMP

The cord is by no means a limiting strap but rather keeps the spring centered at all times, it barely even stretches at full flex.
Longer springs is a good thought or coilovers.

i agree you should get off the ramp. with that said you might want to attach the rear springs to the top. Your tire has no weight on it way down there and therefore does you no good. i would work on more balancing or suspension flex. looks like a good start

![]() Flex is only part of the game, and you have that down. Now work on the stuff 502 suggested. Kinda like a basketball player that can stuff the ball but can't shoot freethrows-Shaq. Of course he's got game!

I would definitely attach the coils top and bottom. This won't look as cool on a ramp, but will greatly increase stability on the trail.

Rear steer?
The first pic looks like some wicked rear steer, but the second shot doesn't look TOO bad.
If I was going that high... I'd do a leaf conversion & get rid of "those slinky lookin things in between the axle and frame". that sucker is a beast, though.
