Your friends are idiots. MJ's can use 90% of the bolt on crap for xj's. Finding a decent MJ to start with can present a problem though. Best years are the 91-92 with the 4.0 HO and auto or AX-15. Mine has over 200,000 miles on it. I DD it, granted there are not very many (if any) off the shelf parts on it, but it does what I built it to do.

Older ones are decent enough, the renex fuel system is not my fav (in comparison to the newer 91-95 heep system). I am not positive on the trans, 3spd auto (904?) or aw4? If it runs and the price is right.... you know what to do. |
