H1 wheels and PVC pipe

Building a set of H1 8 bolt wheels and was wondering what size Pvc everyone uses. Thanks in advance.

i know the od of the flange for the stock alum center is 17" so 16" pipe i would think, i have not checked up on this yet, i need to do it too.
