haha yea I cant find the damn factory hood latches anywhere! I couldnt imagine loosing shit like that after three years.. So I bought some Mr. Gasket hood pins from Vato-zone, drilled the holes and when I went to install them the damn nuts were machined so poorly that they would just spin on the stud instead of tightening down. I got some better nuts ( thats what she said) and im gonna install them this weekend.

and before someone comments on the cooler.... The only way that I can squeeze it behind the grill is by mounting it inverted so I think thats where air is getting trapped so Ive got it sitting where it is hoping I can get the rest of the air out.

I was reading that people have been having trouble bleeding the steering with the flat coolers and have been switching over to a tube cooler. Might be something worth checking into.

yea talked to Sean at POS yesterday and he confirmed my suspicions on the cooler. It wont work inverted even after the system is bled, because the system will make air and mounting it this way will basically make a big trap for any air produced...

He also brought up another factor I hadn't considered, any minute slippage in the belt will make for erratic steering, good chance that i got some oil on it when I was pre-filling the system so I am going to look into this as well

little update on the steering. So after having dissasembled the entire system twice, moving the cooler, moving the resevoir twice and buying three different suction lines I still had very expensive pile of shit posing as a steering system! I talked to sean at POS and he just kept telling me it was either my fluid or the suction line. well I tried premium CAT Hydro fluid, and regular power steering fluid, had the dash 10 suction hose that the system called for, a dash 10 with a higher vac rating and finally got a dash 12 that had an extremely high vac rating and it still didnt work for shit. pump made no noise and the system showed no signs of air!

eventully gave up on calling sean and called PSC. The guys there were great! After talking to lance for about 15 mins I sent my pump off to them, a few days after they got it they ran it on the dyno and found that the pump was only running at about 20% because it had the wrong cam!!!!!! They rebuilt the pump for 60 bucks and sent it back. Hooked everything up and it works awesome now.

Harlan trip

Heres a couple of pics from harlan last weekend. Jeep did well for the third run. gave it hell for 2 days and had a blast, found that my big ass fenders and full cage do not mesh well with lions den; and broke a 30 spline stub on your turn. also through in a random pic of my last ride that ran across

When you were in Harlan did anyone make it up that last line to the right at the top of Mason Jar? Thats a fun ass trail. Jeep looks good man. How'd it do in lions den aside from evidently dragging some?

I hit that line hard for about 10 min. and just couldnt get up it. Lions den was cool but with the long wheelbase and full cage I got pinned between a "rock and a hard place" and had to winch over the big rock. seemed pretty slimy down there the week we went

build looks good...chop them fenders up so you can use all that up travel!
BTW, who do you usually wheel with? I grew up in TH, graduated from south in 99.
