X2. I'm running the Sanderson headers and like them a lot. Just be sure to get the coated versions. That's one thing I wish I would have done.

I can tell you the Advance Adapters headers dont quite fit with the Novak weld on YJ mounts. I had to notch the driver side mount and plate it in to make them fit. The pass side fit with plenty of room.

![]() Jeep is driveable now. The novak mounts line up everything pretty good. Still a lot of touch up and clean up to do, but it was nice to get it on the road.

Very informative thread, thanks for all the info you guys have shared here.
Getting ready for my LQ9 swap in my 72 commando. Im running TH400 and the question is, do you guys worry about drilling and tapping the one hole for the bellhousing? The boss is there its just not drilled. Should i worry much about it as far as drilling into a water jacket or something? Do most guys just leave it blank and not worry about it? |

It will be fine with 5 bolts. Lots run just those with high HP applications just get some good grade 8 metric bolts for it.

Man I would have extended the mount plates to the other engine two mount holes on the block especially on a aluminum block. Those two bolt casting pads are taking alot of weight and force. Be really easy to fix, may save you trouble down the road.

he pointed out he is using THREE engine bosses on each side (there is an additional one towards the upper front). ![]() still ... probably after registration test (yeah ... they are a bit strange the inspectors here regarding load angles and stuff) I will revisit those engine plates again!

... kwikperformance.com ... just make sure you order the right stuff for truck, f-body or corvette depth! you can get a ac compressor or/and the right serpentine belt from them too.i think southernperformance have the kwik stuff bundled as kits (plus steering pump, plus alternator) for some additional cash as well. EDIT: just checked your build thread ... nice ... far from "bolt on" ![]() the kwikperf site has the dimensions as well ... the width with a/c relocation and alternator high mount is substantial and your shock mount hoops might get in the way. You might want to use the truck high mount bracket for the alternator PLUS the Alan Grove Components low mount bracket for the A/C ... less space requirements than any other GM low mount and for the famous sanden compressors : "http://www.hotrodhardware.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=2972/category_id=675/home_id=364/mode=prod/prd2972.htm" No passenger side upper CA to get in the way, nice! thanks wayne
![]() today I checked again ... both sides use 3 bosses on the engine block. (two upper and one lower, with the front upper sitting at a different angle) btw ... the ORIGINAL Holden Monaro engine brackets use three bosses only as well (two lowers and one front upper of the usual 4) well ... the monaro is no off road toy and I will extend the plates (5 bosses should be fine)

Ok I asked WHYJ what he was going with as far as trans adapters but wanted opinions here also. Whats the best adapter to go with to get from 4l60e to my transfer case? Novak and Advance Adapters are the two Im considering.
