4.0 throttlebody on a 2.5
Installed a 4.0 throttlebody and throttlebody spacer on my 2.5. I've noticed a power gain when the MAP sensor isn't messing up. A few questions. First the throttlebody didn't have a spot for the MAP sensor so I moved it to a spot on the intake just under the throttlebody. Will this effect it? Next can I still use my 2.5 MAP sensor or do I need one off a 4.0? I also run a cold air intake if that makes any difference.
Thanks for any help in advance. |

What just because it's a 4cyl it's not allowed in hardcore. It don't take alot of HP to get throught the tough stuff. My last 7 jeeps were V8's and 6cyl. And I like the light weight of the 4 banger. It sucks to drive on the road but that don't happen much anyway considering it's not legal. I'm just trying to get alittle more low end. |

. If you want more low end, get gears. Throttle body spacers are gay. |

If you want more power you need to add the 4.0 air intake box and tube. I have one for sale. PM me for details.

Hooked it into a vacumn port right under the throttle body. Right now I got it idleing good and not cutting out any more. Most of the time it runs good with a noticable power difference. but every now and then it doggs down for a few seconds. The throttle body came off and older 4.0 about a 95 model. I used the Throttle Position Sensor and MAP Sensor(which I relocated) off the 2.5. But since the Idle Air Control was bad i used the one of the 4.0. I'm starting to thinc I need to use all of one or the other.

I did this to my old jeep, tps is the same for the 4.0 and 2.5, but the IAC motor and housing are different. they either have 4.0 or 2.5 stamped on them, you need one that says 2.5. I found this mod makes no diference in power, money is better spent elsewere. Gears made a much better diference
