DJ5 727 Tranny into CJ7 - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

Looking at installing a 727 auto transmission out of a DJ5 Postal Jeep into my CJ7 with a 258. Any ideas problems that will come up? Will a Dana 300 bolt up or is there an adapter needed?

Just get the ultra-common 4WD version of the 727.

THAT 727 bolts to the D300 with no adapter.

FSJ's without quadratrac, and without the 258

Just make sure it is not the TH400 that came in the earlier Wagoneers.

1980 or newer, or just look for any FSJ with the front diff on the driver's side.
