What Ohm range does this sending unit produce?? I bought an Autometer gauge with the 73 - 12 Ohm range. It said it was for the Chrysler years pre - 1989. I know that is what is in the CJ's but is it the same for the Wranglers???
I have an 80-something YJ tank and sending unit (the big plastic tank without the internal pump) and I seem to remember it being basically 0-100 ohms for empty/full. My CJ sending unit measured around 10-70 I believe which matches your numbers. Took me awhile to get used to the CJ guage readings and that's in addition to the fact that empty and full are now reversed The CJ unit increased resistance as fuel level drops and the YJ unit is opposite (or vice versa, been a bit since I measured it).
what are the readings for the 96 and newer 4.0l? anyone? it doesnt say in my giant chrysler manual.
