Looking for a write up or other source of info on a rebuilding a TF999 in an '84 CJ-7. I did the search and found a few threads with some info, but none of them pertained to the "how-to's" of actually rebuilding.
Talk to a company called Turbo Action they know TF's. I am told that they did TF's for Chrylser factor backed drag racers. I have talked to them a couple of times and they are very helpful.
the front band ( kickdown band) can be replaced by only removing the pump, the lo/reverse band requires almost complete gut removal.
get a transmission manual, from a source named ATGT, or ATG ( some transmission technology something) I cant remeber where to order, but they are pretty common, little paperbacked books, about $12 and they cover all TF models, all torque specs, and everything.
I sold mine years ago or would give it to you!
ive also got a chiltons book that shows it, but its out on loan.
Thanks for the link. It'll help me with 904 stuff.
