On the 88' yj there is a pipe that goes into the catalytic converter coming from the air filter. Does this need to be hooked up, or is it just for emissions purposes?
Do you know what it does? It is still there. I just have to reconnect it. Just kind of a pain since I cut it. Please let me know why you say you would keep it hooked up. If it just emissions I'm not that worried about it. It passed inspection without it.
Are you talking about the air pipe, it feeds air into the cat to help the cats efficiency by improving combustion. Fresh air to help feed the "fire" in the cat, just improves the burn off of gasses.
