I just bought a SRW 14 Bolt that is 67" WMS. I was wondering if anyone has put TJ brackets on this axle? I'm afraid I will not be able to put the track bar mount on because the center section sits to the left. Will duelly hubs narrow my track width by 2" on each side? Thanks.

beast.... been tinker'n with a few things and waiting on a couple parts. ive had it out on the street and i played on some cement water pipes it worked out nice. i have a top secret super dooper special wheel'n trip setup "soon" to test it out. keep an eye out for pics.
OK, I have a ?. I was looking into putting a standard D60 in the rear of my TJ and everybody told me not to do it because the driveline and pinion angle would be to much. So how does one get away with putting a 14 bolt in and nobody is against it. Wouldn't the angle be greater with the 14 bolt than the D60? Help me understand
well scout dude you have 4 choices....
1- tera flex
2- rubicon express(the ones i perfer..)
3- wagoner machine shop($$$$$$$$, but real nice)
4- make your own....
personally i would go with RE kit you get everything you need for aroun 185$ an axle...
as for the 14 bolt pinion angle , when you retrofit it in your tj you will need brackets all you have to do is measurements...all you have to do is make up for the low pinion by welding the coil buckets on more towards the rear, basically turn the pinion up as high as you need be and weld them on.
OR do what i did get a HP 60 weld on 14b outers and weld the bracketry according to your shaft angles. i ran a 9" and had welded them exactly like my d44 ,when i slapped the diff in having a 7" lift my angle was sick due to the low pinion ,i guess i could of grinded them off and reweld them but i sold the rear and front and went 1 ton.really all not that expensive...
sorry for the whole life story but just wanted to help ya out...

What does bracket placement have to do with the pinion angle? You could have rotated the brackets on your nine inch but the pinion angle doesn't change??? Assuming you have adjustable arms you should be able to set the pinion no matter where the brackets are. (within reason ofcourse)
okay sorry i didnt explain myself to clearly ....
the 9 had had been welded to mirror a d44 or stock jp axle.even after adjusting my arms (RE LONG ARMS) i still didnt have enough adjustment to make up for the low pinion .it was strange but before i welded the new brackets on the HP60 i did some measurments so my pinion will be in the right place for me...you cant just weld on brackets and make up for it at the arms....
i think what tj7 is sayin is you can weld up the brackets retaining the stock angles on the brackts but have the pinion pointed wherever you want it.
for instance if the coil buckets sit at 1degree stock and you lift it and then point the pinoin up an extra 25 degrees your buckets are at 26 degrees. what tj is sayin is you can retain the 1 degree on the buckets and have a 25 degree pinion angle. (im just using those numbers and brackets as an example i dont know what the coil buckets are off the top of my head)
hahahahah! exactly dude
i couldn't say it any better....
see i didnt want to have stock angles and for me to modify them and fawk around with the bracketry even if i would triangulate the rear .the 9" wasnt strong enough for me and to build a FF RC60 with 14b outers was a better idea.
So it has nothing to do with the pinion angle just retaining the stock bracket set-up with pinion angle in mind...it wasn't clear since he was spilling on about better pinion angles with rotated bracketry.
If you going to all the trouble to get the brackets right on the axle might make sense to move the rear frame coil perch so that the spring is exactly straight up and down. I did exactly that and the jeep no longer lifts a tire during turns.
thats one way but i kinda opted not to go that route as eventually i will be stetching my wheelbase as much as i can ,i may have to make some new arms(longer) but, i will be fine with my rear the way i will have it even with stockperches on the frame by doin what i was saying before....did i lose ya again dude ...hahahaha!

I had heard that the RE ones were shit...but then, so are the factory ones so I guess it's be about the same...Have you priced out WMS's? I like the fact that theirs mount above the axle line. I suppose I could make them myself...need to look into that and figure out if it's worth my time or not...
hahahahahah
leafs are better right?
hahahahahaha:flipoff2:
whatever dude i had both and wouldnt give my coils up for anything well maybe 16" sway aways.....
wms-are pretty expensive like 500$ an axle...re are much heavier duty then all of them dude no joke ....
hey dude ,well i have been working like a dog lately and well steve finally finished the outers for me .i took care of the brackets so all of the big fab work is done .i was really hoping to get out to murphy for the dixie run but...
$$$$$$$$$$
$$$$$$$$$$
is always the problem dude,i need full float shafts, arb's,steering and my humvees fabbed from dean and then ill be ready .hahahaha seems like it will never be done but might as well do it right the first time.waiting for my new visa card so i can blow it up....

Will the duelly hubs narrow my WMS to WMS? I would rather not have to narrow my housing and get new axles.
