Rock Bouncer Flatty Build

I've started a Flatty and thought it might interest the guys into old iron. I've give a quick run down of a few specs and componets. wheelbase approx 112"-113" and 24" (or less if I can swing it) to the skidplate. I'm running a series II Buick 3800 with a pair of Cummins VGT's off a 6.7 liter engine ( going to make around 500-700 hp on motor alone) I will prolly put a 2 stage nitrous kit on it for those "Horsepower hills" but mostly for bling Looking to weigh 3800# or less and finally the rest of the driveline..... a built 700r4 and np231 sye'd with 404 Unimogs outfitted with WEPS portal reinforcements and 4 wheel disk using 4 piston Corvette calipers. Wheels and tires are as follows. 43 TLS/SX's on recenter H1 double-beadlocks. frame and rest of chassis will be 1.75 DOM and I am using FOA 14" triple rate coilover in front and 16" FOA's in rear

One of my good friends is helping me with the tube-work...

You may want to reconsider using a (one) turbo of this size on an engine as small as a 3800, let alone two.

It simple cannot flow enough air to activate that turbo, NOS or not.

I've done the research, a 60mm compressor (the size of these) will certainly spool fine. The thing you gotta remember is that it's a variable exhaust housing, it will close down to approximately a 3cm housing (WAY SMALL) which will spool. INSTANTLY... They are many Grand National guys running street cars with MUCH more turbo than this on theirs WITHOUT being a VGT, so hang on and enjoy the ride!

And thanks for the interest and btw, I don't want to come across as a know it all cuz I'M NOT
I've just done my homework and have some expeirence with this turbo

Sounds like you have it figured out, if you can pull if off it will indeed be awesome. Now get to work

What kind of programming and inputs will you use to control the vgt operation? I work on those(cummins vgt) almost daily. Curious as to how the aftermarket does it.

The upper intake is from GM (what they should have used to start with) I too work on Cummins Rigs often. I dot have the CAN protocol so we have used boosted driven actuaries in the past, however Fleece Performance is finishing up a stand alone module to contol these vgt's on any application it's about a month or so from production...and I will used it instead of actuators to have the engine brake side of these turbos as an added feature...( wired on a switch ).

Mogs, links, big sx's, turbo'd 3800, flatty. Sounds sweet

231? are you planning to swap to a 6 planetary gearset and widechain to handle the power?

Subscribed.

Agreed an Atlas should be in your future to handle all that motor.

Yea, gonna upgrade this case I have the jiblets to make those upgrades. I had it so I'm gonna run it while it last and then look at upgrading if durability becomes an issue...

I'm betting it does. scatter that is.....
