Indeed our 2nd son was born Monday! Things have been really busy. I have been working on some custom laser cut stainless dodge ram grilles that I sell so the jeep has been on the back burn. I need to get in gear though due to some good weather coming our way! Funds being down does not help either! Kids are expensive even with good insurance!

Update...
So wheeling season for me is approching fast. Out new baby is a couple months old and its time to get back into the garage! Finished up fuel pump (e2000) , fuel lines (summit racing an fittings with steel braided lines), built limiting spacer for the Hyrdro assist ram so my tires dont rub on the frame and lCA's, measured out and ordered my braided brake lines, finished up the Box-4-rocks doubler. Now things to do... - Exhaust - shifter for doubler - drivelines - SYE - skid plate - gears - fenders and cage

So i have a question for everyones opinions....
Im running the 4.0, ax15, 231 doubler, and debating about the main tcase.... My cheapest easiest route right now is to do a "Supershort SYE" on my current 231 and run it. But d60's, 5.38's and 42's is some pressure... also the added pressure of the doubler to the main 231 case. My last rig I ran a D300 with chev running gear. I dont want to deal with the time and money of running a flipped 300 right now. Any guys have experiance running a similar setup with the main case a 231?

I like the build. Its kinda cool to see a (somewhat) local build. I cant wait to see it done. Im just finishing up a '56 CJ5 that sits a 100" WB on 42's with about a 23" frame height.
I work with 2 guys from McMinnville....

Update...
So trying to get thing done and on a test run... Completed exhaust, tcases are in, tranny crossmember, brake lines, master cyl, fuel pump, fuel lines, tower brace, limit straps So I ended up purchasing a rebuilt D300. Didnt want the weak link of a 231 as main case behind the doubler. Flipping these and getting them to fit good without cutting up my floor was a damn chore! Ended up notching my seat bracket to gain clearance on the floor. Also you have to cut the shifter braket off the D300 to be able to clock the 231 doubler flat as well as the 300 to flat. Im using cable shifters so its not a big deal. Also had to adjust 3 holes on the back of the AX15 for mounthing the 231 flipped. Put in the extra set of seals on the shift rails also. Hope she does not leak! I also designed a bracket for the D300 to be an additional support bracket. Built a crossmember for the tranny with some poly bushings at the frame. This will make the skid an crossmember seperate allowing easy access as well as in case of bent skid it wont effect drivetrain. Seats notched: ![]() These are the holes that need to be opened up. I used a router and strait bit (some setup I used on my H2 wheels) to clock the 3 holes over counter clockwise. ![]() Template I made when designing my brackets for the D300 ![]() Dana 300 with the brackets for cable shifters put on as well as Box4Rocks plate mounted for mock up ![]() Assembled ![]() Installed

Exhaust was a chore as well. Got some mandrel bent pieces and started cutting / welding. Its all 2.5" from the manifold back. Its mounted to the drivetrain so that it wont move seperate cause cracks in the header. All the drivetrain is poly mounted as well now.
I used a universal cat and a polished stainless resonator from baxters. It works well, sounds great, and is way smaller than a muffler. ![]() ![]() <br> <br> <br> Also got the shock tower brace done. Had my logo cut in a plate I designed. ![]() Stated the center console as well. Its 1.5" dom. My cable shifters will mount to this frame. Then Ill deisng and have some stainless laser cut with all the opening for good stuff: switches, shifters, cup holders, CB, and what not. This will also hide the cable for the cases where they enter the floor.

What did you end up doing for a skidplate? I've got a 231 300 doubler on my yj, but kept it pass drop to run chevy gear. Even keeping the 300 on the pass side it was a total bitch to tuck everything up high enough to do a flat belly and keep a 21 inch frame height
Overall, looks good Alex

wow you guys reminded me I needed to get on here and get some updates up!
KJDAVIS: You prob did see it on 213 on on the trailer either headed to or from browns. Alehandro3: I made a skid... not flat, but as titght to the cable shifters and what not as I could. I didnt mod my floor nor run a body lift so my skid does resemble the factory one. Its made from 1.5 .250 wall DOM and skinned with 1/4 plate. heavy but beef! Ill get to some pics now

Here is the second tcase support / crossmember. Its 1.5" .250dom with my laser cut bracket for the flipped D300 case. works great. Everything is super tight when wheeling.

here are the drivelines. made them on a lathe and they turned out awesome. all press fit. The front is a 2-piece with a solid pillow block. works awesome with NO vibs. The "jack shaft" we made using a pinion gear milled down to press into the pillow block. then bolt a stock yoke on to the end.

Looks awesome man, I love the work you've done on it.
I feel you on the whole being able to drive it to the trails and fit the family thing too. I got mine done jjust in time for EJS and was running it as a more or less buggy (no windshield frame, no back seat, etc) and am currently re-working my cage and fuel tank setup to allow for a stock windshield, backseat, and soft top to fit again. Again, awesome work. Oh, and congrats on the new kid.

Gotta say I'm loving this build! You're starting to become an inspiration for my build, I also have 2 lil boys and its hard to build a Jeep, not to mention keeping room for them in it too. My Jeep is resembling your build a good bit, so keep up the great work and can't wait to see it complete!!!

Yes sir! You would have seen it on hwy217 heading to or from browns camp. Had it out 3 times now. Only problem was breaking a read stock 30 spline 60 shaft. Going to 35 chromo now. The thing did everything and more than I expected.
I'll post pics as soon as I get some back from buddy
