rear engine CJ2A buggy axle question
I am planing to build a rear engine(chevy 4.3, turbo300 or powerglide, 105"wb +/-, on 42's) willys buggy and I was planing on running 14b front and rear axles(fliped 14bolts). I was just wondering what your guys thoughts are on the axles. Im looking to be about 64" WMS-WMS. I just want to build something different. what do you think?

Pondering a buggy build
I am building a rear engine buggy myself. Actually I have one, but its a 4/5 seater dune buggy for the sand. Getting ready to build a news vw trans ($4000).
I almost would rather take what I have and convert to axles, t-case, bigger tires, lockers and gears and trans. I have a stock 96 xj with a minor lift. I bought these parts and have not installed them as I could sell them for money to make this build even better, front and rear lockers, carpet, vented windows, rock slides, speakers and amp, tire carrier, spare tire, upper control arms, and some other parts I may be leaving out. I could sell my xj for $2500 and make $1000 in parts. I would like to see pics of what you have, hurdles/problems you have ran into being a rear engine buggy and any other things I maybe leaving out. Thanks! |
