rear 60 ff axle shaft bolt torque - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

I have searched the forum and have found that these 8 bolts need to be torqued to 115 ft/lb. I just did that and snapped two of them. I just want to be sure that is the correct specs, seems like over kill on a 5/8th bolts.

Are the bolts original to the axle? How many times have they been torqued like that....I'd say both of these were factors in their failure....Never thought about specific ft/lbs, always just tightened the shit out of them.

They were new grade 5s, going to get grade 8s.
