d44 swap

i have just put a d44 out of a 2000 dodge ram under my cherokee. the prblem is that i have three vacum lines coming from t-case and two vacum ports on the axel. is there any way to solve this problem. i was thinking of splicing two of them togther if that is even possible.
anyone know what to do
thanks, kevin

huh?? i am lost here i am asuming that the front axle is a vacum disconect and sence i have no clue exactly on this POS i am guessing one is to actuate and one is to unlock so if that is correct then your answer is no(unless one of them is the vent tube and you are confusing me more)
3 vacum lines off the t-case
someone help this guy cause i am fawking clueless here

Take a look at a stock YJ, if I recall (mines been gone for a long time), the vacuum disconnect only uses two hoses at the axle, and the three lines from the t-case go to a diaphram on the firewall. Perhaps a factory sevice manual schematic for a YJ's vacuum disconnect system would help.

Kevin, how many modifications did you have to make to get the axle under your xj? i know dodges have coils, are all the mounts the same (lcas, ucas, trackbar, steering)? im not sure what you should do to correct your problem, you could always put in a one peice shaft and not worry about the crappyness of a disconect axle......

4Bangler is right. Two lines go to the front axle, one goes up to the engine. It has to get vac from somewhere right? Check on your firewall, there should be a small white filter lookin thingy, trace that back to where the end is just hanging there and thats where your third line should connect if I remember right. Havent used that system in years.

I think 4x4 posi lock makes a cable disconnet system.

I too would like more specifics of how the swap went?

the two ports on the axle are for the actuating of the vacuum. I would suggest controlling them manually independent of the t-case it will give you essentually 2wd low range without an TAD and a selectable locker with a detroit or lockright. I have a writeup on my manual switch here. http://home.attbi.com/~mountainmarketing/id40.htm

as a side bonus the 4wd goes in and out much faster since the vacuum goes directly from the engine to the axle not engine- t-case-axle. and those lines are very leakage prone.

The 3rd port on the d30 axle is for the 4x4 indicator light in the dash, as the fork moves over to a locked position it receives a vacuum signal and turns the light on. It won't be as accurate but you can just put a t in the side that has vaccum when its locked to indicate that the vacuum is in the 4x4 position.

thanks for all the suggestions i will give it a look this weekend.
as far as the swap it was big project for me being it was my first.
the axels were out of a 2000 dodge 4x4 offroad edition so it came with 4.10 and gussets from the factory. about the only thing i used were the control arm mounts. i had to move the coilbuckets in a inch or two and relocate the trackbar mount, the swaybar mount had to be moved, i also made new control arms imitating the RE longarm kit. overall i am happy but needs some fine tuning a you can tell.
