85-91 Dana 60 in TJ
I am going to run an 89 Ford HP60 in my TJ and have been trying to find a way to place the coils on the axle tube. Is there a way to actually cut the center section housing on the driverside axle tube to make more room? If so does it cause any problems or weaknesses for the axle?? Any pics that anyone has from already doing this would be great.

if by "trying to find a way" you mean you looked under your couch, then you may want to try searching, as it's covered often.
I put the same axle under my XJ, using a lot of information I found on here, after searching, and reading the many threads covering the swap. short version: cut casting 1/2 way into the hole in the casting (hole for leaf centering bolt) cut all the way around, then cut in half so you can remove it voila |

It can't be done. You're wasting your time.
