Okay, sorry to bother the forum w/a Q about a stock Jeep <IMG SRC="smilies/emb.gif" border="0">
82 Scrambler, 258/T-5. Could it have come with the std. 2.73 gears, or would the 5 spd option also add the 3.54 gears? I drove one the other day, and it seemed really sluggish even with the balding 31" tires. O/D with 2.73's, could they have sunk that low? [ 08-13-2001: Message edited by: Reddwarf ]

2.73 was very common with the late 80's CJ's. Most of the ones I've seen lately that are running AMC 20's have 2.73 from the factory.

Wow, you guys have been very helpful.
Is it okay if I hang out here more <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> Panther: I am not sure, I think it has the SR package, but I know it isn't the SL; no chrome. It's dark green with a tan stripe at the bottom, and has red vinyl seats. What kind of seats with the SR package? Thanks again everybody <IMG SRC="smilies/cool.gif" border="0">

SL was the most "loaded" package with clock, tach, tilt, PS&B. I have a 82' book at home with all the options for each, I could check later. Also http://scrambler.cj-8.com/fact.asp has some good info.
So did you get it? If so, don't forget to register: http://jeephead.com/regfront.html
