Is this an acceptable backlash?
This is from a Hp Dana 30 reverse cut. Is this an acceptable backlash? its supposed to be between 6-10 but it seems to just barely hit 6 should I get more or is this ok just a little tight?

As long as they are new gears, that .06 will be fine. As they break in they will open to a touch. On the tighter end is better anyway and will make the gear set lest likely to strip teeth.
Also, you know you can zero that dial indicator so it's easier to read?
