yup.
I know it's an 8.8 out of a 95ish Explorer with disc brakes. Additionally your spelling sucks.

Think about gettting the rear axle that matches the front end you got. Anything that could be considered "Dana 44 full size" is going to be a different bolt pattern than the Explorer 8.8.
What is this Dana 44 out of?

The 44 came from a 3/4 ton Ford.I swapped out the knuckles for some 5 lugs.the bolt patterns match up now.the 8.8 measures 62 1/2 from backing plate to plate.isn't that a bit wide for an explorer.did the 8.8 come in the expedition?

The Expedition had an 8.8 with the 4.6L and a 9.75 with the 5.4L. I thought Expedition came out in '97? It would have the 1/2 ton bolt pattern, which is 5 on 5.5, until they changed it in (I think) '04.

I do not see why it would fold like a taco. Someone has their head up their ass with that comment, unless you are running a lot of power to big tires. Mine has held up fine behind a 4.6L turning 33s for 146,000 of it's 203,000 miles. I have hauled heavy enough with it to have sprung the leaf springs, towed 13-17000 regularly with TBC and damn good trailer brakes. For three years, that poor little light F150 handled loads well over it's abilities and the suspension repairs proved that. But the axles and frame have held up fine. Odd, that's on original axles, front driveshaft, t-case, trans, and engine yet. Fold like a taco..... der der der |

btw he runs a d44 from a wagoneer up front so as you can see he uses 1" wheel spacers on the 8.8 which gets him real close to the same width which i cant remember off the top of my head.
