I built my mom a jeep 15 years ago, (15" of lift and kc lights above the winshield, 40" hawgs, autozone shackles) all the worst stuff. But she loved it and drove it to work everyday for about 3 years untill the the steering shaft broke. I pulled it home and put it in the garage and havnt touched it since.
Im gonna put it back together again for her, she says she wants to go ride with us.

I have a question, its a 79 cj with a 304 automatic and quadra track, is there a case that is a direct bolt in to replace that hunk of junk?

I might be willing to purchase the KC Lights and Autozone shackles for my Jeep...if you no longer need them. I'm purchasing items so I can lift my Jeep about 20", or do you think that's high enough?

The OP has built builds bad ass rigs. Have faith.

Besides it was built in the mid-90's, I'm sure it also has neon shock boots and "Back Off" mud flaps.

What a trainwreck and it's only 4 posts deep.

I don't know of a direct bolt in TC swap for the quadratrac, but I am not real familiar with them other than trying to avoid them.

What kind of wheeling do you do? I would ditch some of that lift, trim some sheetmetal, etc. Replacing the quadratrac is a wise move as well.

Definitly going to update it. I was young and dumb and thought the more stuff you bolted on the cooler it was. I play as hard as you possibly can but this is for mom just to follow us the easiest path possible. I have a set of toyota axles and 38" tsl's laying around so thats probably what it will get. planning on using stock yj leafs. I'll get some pics up this weekend of what it used to be and currently is.

This is how I got it, Thought I was buying a good jeep, but it was a lick and stick paint job hiding a whole lot of rust.

Dug it out today, started stripping it down. Put a battery in it and she fired up pretty easy considering how long it sat. mice had ate the oil pressure line off of it. couple pics of it now.
