Ebrake after rear disc conversion???

I am upgrading to front and rear Dana 60s on my cj7. And I went with the blue torch rear disc brackets. Question I have is how to I get an emergency brake back without spending a lot of dough? Eldorado rear calipers are expensive in my area and I have heard complains that it is hard to get them to work correctly and the Dana 300 brake kit is way more $$$$ than I have. What are my options on a budget of $100?

I have read many posts on line locks, but a lot of guys have told me that they don't recommend them because they don't hold for more than a day.

willwood makes a slave resivor that you can plumb in the hydraulic line going to your rear disc brakes. it is mechanically activated with a plunger. I used it with my parking brake cable and a bellcrank fabbed dealio that I bought from a vendor on here.

I'll look for the link.

Link to my crap description above.

1) For the bracket call Mark at CEO Offroad ... http://www.ceoffroad.com/contact.html, Wilwood slave cylinder p/n WIL-260-6089 ordered online for about $50 plus shipping
2) 45 degree fitting is output and runs towards rear axle where it tees on the axle housing to each caliper, 90 degree fitting is input line from main master cylinder.

I will disagree. Mine will hold, and be strong more than a day. If it leaks down there is a problem with the system (leaking) somewhere. And if this is a trail rig how bad of an angle are you leaving it parked on for more than a day? This is the best way to solve your issue on a budget in my opinion. Other options (like the wilwood suggestion) is costly hence the not going Eldorado calipers in the first place.

i agree- there is some sorta problem with the line lock valve if it releases pressure at all..

I bought a brake line flaring kit & piece of brake line & 4)90* elbows & 90* turn lever-cutoff valve from napa- probly less than $45..

just cut the rear brake line at a desired location (i did mine adjacent to the trans shifter- attached the two 90* elbows at the cuts bend new lines into the desired location to match the location for installing the 90* turn lever valve inside the cab //drill a couple +/-1/4" holes to feed the lines into the cab & attach the lines to the shutoff valve.
after bleeding the system you're set..

press the brake & turn the lever to the "Closed" position & your brakes stay applied at whatever pressure you had them applied to..

cool also is that you can "lock-out" the rear brakes (by means of not applying the brakes but close the valve) & in 2wd you can power brake the crap outta your rig on a trail & the rear end will swing around a corner (downhill side normally)
--just remember to open the valve before you need to use the brakes to stop

bare in mind that a hydraulic line lock isn't DOT approved as an E-brake, so some Mechanical (cable-connection) is required to meet those standards..

Looks like the 78 Eldorado calipers from Autozone don't come with the ebrake brackets or springs?
