I'm assuming its set-up for disk brakes.

Unless you are linking the XJ as part of the swap, you need spring perches, and that should really be it.

Obviously you'll need to adapt the e-brake cables and brake lines, but that should be really simple and straightforward.

Basically:

cut the coil spring perches and control arm mounts off the TJ axle, weld on leaf spring perches bolt the axle in and adapt everything else.

The XJ D44 has a thicker tube and less work.

cut all the 4 link bracketry off and weld some leaf spring perches on....

or the other way around.... build a 4 link cross member for the XJ and keep the 4 link mounts on the axle... i would do that if it were mine

yeah, read the same-- said to have the same tubes (2-5/8") as in dana 35s with only 1/4" wall, but i've never put a caliper on one..

the 44 i put in my xj (from an old XJ) was dang tuff... beat on it regularly
