College student on budget with a new (to me) 87 XJ
Hello, my name is Patrick and I recently picked up a 4dr 87 XJ 4wd with an i6 for $600. I have a car but wanted to start a Jeep project so I can wheel with, not just ride along, when my friends go wheeling.
The Good 4wd and only 163k miles on it (as read on the odometer) Only $600 Interior is still in pretty good condition 28 Goodyear A/T tires The Bad Cracked muffler Leaky injector No inspection No title I knew going into this project that it would take some money to get it running right again, much less rock crawling capable, but for $600 I had to jump on it.

Not really new, just been gone a while
I’m not really a new here, but it's been a while and I just wanted to say HI an let you folks know a little about me.
I’m new to Jeeps. I had an old Trooper II for several years that led a very abused life. I’ve been without a 4x4 for almost two years and recently picked up a 93 ZJ (5.2 30/35) in a trade. It’s had a rough life too. I hear that the wiring harness was cut up by a husband whose wife was cheating on him, but who knows. It’s been pieced back together, but right now it’s an ill running, fluid leaking mess. I’ve done a little work on it, but it needs more before I put it on the road. I’ll try and post some photos now.

New to the Site
This place was recommended to me by a Hardcore Wheeler,
as a place that has ZJ info on it. Like I really need any... I never bolt anything onto my ZJ (or anything else I work on for that mater) that belongs on it, or was ever intended to be on it! Hence the Nickname: Monkey Wrench Although I will say that in the few days I've been here, I am very impressed with all the insane stuff you crazy guys do! ![]() Built out of Junk Yard Parts.... And Proud of it! ![]() '93 ZJ ~4.0 -Custom 5" Lift -33" Rut Runners -Work in Progress |

My name is Justin D. Fender and I live in North Carolina. I owned a Samurai for the past 10 years, and followed the Zuki owners around online through different forums since around 1996 (mostly going by "muskrat"). Sold the Samurai, paid property taxes, put some money away, and bought a cheap '93 ZJ. Works better for the family.
2" budget lift, eccos, and my 31" BFGs. Getting use to the Jeep thing, replacing parts and fixing leaks. 169K miles.

Hey all,
