NV1500 or NV2550, whats the difference?

and how can I tell which one is on my TJ?
Just bought a jeep from a friend. First one ever.
I want to get it right before the upgrade stage but I've found it confusing as all to determine which tranny is in my 04 2.4L Wrangler.

Plz advice on this.

so is the name just interchangeable. because I find NV1500 for sale for Dodges and and I find NV2550 for sale for jeep 2.4s but the the wiki says 1500 but some other forums have had a bit of a back and forth about it.

I even recently found some posts where folks were saying they are the same thing. the 1500 and the 2550
