j10 Questions...d44 front/rear

is this axle combo stock on a 1979 j10 pickup?

what is the max. tire for this setup before parts start popping?

are there any weak spots in the drivetrain...360 motor, auto...t-case?

thanks....

brian

Yes, it is. Has a knob in the glove box.

I have these axles in my YJ right now.

Front is passanger drop, 65" WMS. Big bearing spindles.
Rear is offset 7ish" to passanger side 63" WMS.

No real answer for "max tire size, weak spots in the drivetrain...360 motor, auto...t-case?"

Did you try the search button?

it depends on your driving style. if you like to hammer it from time to time then you'll start breaking shit with 36s. If you drive with some conservative nature then 38s might be your need. Problem is that the weight of the truck is a major factor. i ran into the same thing and had to step up to tons.

Spring it over, run 36s and start saving $$$ for bigger stuff. It eventually gets to that point with these heavy things.
