TJ front Drive Shaft in a YJ

TJ front Drive Shaft in a YJ...

Yes I have the Yoke for the T-case but are there any other problems I might run into...

I have done the measurements and it should work. But I have not seen any write up's on it? I need it so my EZ locker can spin with a balanced drive shaft and have a CV... The TJ shaft is designed to spin....

Not flaming you, but you are looking for a write up on installing a shaft? Measure and it should work. I run a TJ case on my Yj and the only diference was like you mentioned the YOke. I ended up gettings traps and longer 8 grade screws to go across instead of replacing the yoke.

So what is your question?? What problems are you going to run into??? If it fits, and mounts it will work.

Talking

arent the YJ front shafts single cardan and the TJ's have a "Double cardan near constant velocity" joint at the t-case end?

your angles will be diffrent with that type of shaft as well as the yoke on the YJ T-case is different and not made for the "CV" joint...

I know what I have to do and have done that.. As far as the parts I need.
New Yoke on the T-case.... Then It should be a bolt-in...

BUT there are always things that come up and I just wanted to see if anyone has had any problems...

Did you have to cut your skid??
That's the only thing I can see that could be a problem...

I have my skid slightly grinded, but was nothing major. I had to cut my skid a lot after the full wodth swap, but not before. On my setup I just used different straps, and grade 8 bolts to hold things together and had no issues.

Thanks....Looks like I'll do my flat skid and new crossmember at the same time if I have to mod the stocker skid....

That is the stuff that comes up and in this case it would be WAY easer to mod the skid before installing the shaft like I would have done.... No it's not hard but it would have saved me time....
